How to plan a hen do in Sitges (with a boat party to remember)

In short
A hen do in Sitges has everything in one place: a beach in the middle of town, an old town made for dinner and dancing, and a marina where your own boat is waiting. Here's how to plan it, from the train out of Barcelona to the last toast of the night.
Is Sitges good for a hen do?
Yes, and it's easy to see why. Sitges is a beach town with style: whitewashed lanes, a church on the rocks above the sea and a seafront made for long lunches. It feels special without feeling like a party resort.
- Everything is walkable. Beach, old town, restaurants and the marina, which is a 10-minute walk from the centre. No taxis between plans.
- Barcelona is right there. The R2 Sud train gets you from the city to Sitges in under an hour, with no changes.
- The sea is the star. Of all the ways to celebrate here, the one everybody remembers is the afternoon on the water.
A Sitges hen do, from morning to night
The perfect day has four parts, and the boat sits right in the middle.
- Morning on the beach. Breakfast, a swim and a lazy start to the day.
- Afternoon on the boat. Your own boat, your playlist, a swim under the cliffs and a toast to the bride.
- Dinner in the old town. Back at the marina with time to get ready, then a table in the centre.
- Night out. The old town comes alive after dark, and everything is a short walk away.
The boat party: your boat, your playlist
Here, a boat party means a private boat with a skipper, only for your group and never shared with strangers. You meet at Port d'Aiguadolç, climb aboard and the day is yours.
- Music on as soon as you're out of the harbour. Inside the marina boats go slowly and keep it down; past the harbour mouth, press play.
- A swim under the Garraf cliffs. The first cove is minutes away: see the beaches near Sitges for every swim stop.
- Nobody has to drive. The skipper sails the boat, so nobody in your group needs a licence: here's why you don't need a boat licence in Sitges.
- Room for everyone. Each boat has its maximum number of people and the skipper sticks to it, and everyone on board is covered by accident insurance.
| Boat party | Whole boat | Per person, full |
|---|---|---|
| 2 h | €335 | €37 |
| Half day (3–4 h) | €405 | €45 |
| Full day (5–8 h) | €525 | €58 |
‘From’ prices for the whole boat, with up to 9 people on board, reviewed in October 2026. You pay for the boat, not the seat: the fuller it is, the less each of you pays. Ask for your boat party in Sitges, or see what's included in the price before you decide.
Getting to Sitges from Barcelona
| How | From Barcelona |
|---|---|
| Train, R2 Sud | Under an hour |
| Bus | 45–55 min |
| Car, C-32 (exit 30) | About 45 min, 38 km |

When to go
From May to September, for the boat and a swim in the sea. Spring weekends are perfect for a hen do: sunshine, long days and the summer crowds still to come.
Does your date fall during Sitges Pride (9–13 June 2027) or Bear Week? Expect even more atmosphere and fewer free beds, so book early: here are the Sitges Pride and Bear Week 2027 dates.
Planning a stag do instead?
The same plan works just as well: beach, boat, dinner and a night out. More than 9 of you? Go for a catamaran in Sitges, with deck to spare, or two boats sailing out together. Tell us how many of you there are and we'll send you options with prices.
What to wear on the boat
Flat shoes, your swimsuit under your outfit and a layer for the way back: the photos look better and the deck is safer. The full list is in what to wear on a boat trip.
Our pick
A 2-hour boat party before dinner. A toast as you leave the harbour, a swim in the first cove and back at Aiguadolç with time to get ready for the night. Up to 9 of you on board.
Frequently asked questions
Is Sitges good for a hen do?
Yes. The beach, the old town, the marina and the bars are all within walking distance, and Barcelona is under an hour away by train. It's stylish rather than rowdy: a weekend that feels special, with no transfers in between.
Is Sitges good for a stag do too?
Absolutely. The same plan works just as well: beach, boat, dinner and a night out. The boat is yours, whoever's on board.
How far is Sitges from Barcelona?
About 38 km: around 45 minutes by car on the C-32, or under an hour on the R2 Sud train from Sants, Passeig de Gràcia or Estació de França, with no changes.
Is the boat shared with other groups?
Never. The boat, the skipper and the playlist are just for your group, so the pace and the plan are all yours.
There are more than 9 of us: what can we do?
Two options: a catamaran, with plenty of deck for a bigger group, or two boats sailing out together. Tell us how many of you there are and we'll send you options with prices.
Can we bring sashes and decorations on board?
Sashes, tiaras and the veil, of course. Each boat has its own rules for the rest, and we confirm them in writing with your options. Leave the confetti and balloons on land: anything that blows away ends up in the sea.
How far ahead should we book?
As soon as you have a date, especially for weekends from May to September: they're the first to go. If your date isn't fixed yet, ask anyway and we'll send you options you can confirm later.
